He’s the man for his time and place, and he bowls in league with Walter (John Goodman) and Donny (Steve Buscemi). Except on Sundays because Walter is shomer Shabbos.
When thugs break into The Dude’s home, demanding money and micturating on his rug, The Dude seeks compensation from the person the thugs confused him for – a millionaire also named Jeffrey Lebowski.
The Coen Brothers’ soft-boiled, infinitely quotable, slacker-noir comedy gets the big screen festival treatment for one session only, celebrating the 25th anniversary of that rug really tying the room together, and Walter trying to tie everything back to the Vietnam War.
