Dour mortician Louis (Bernard Campan) keeps people at a polite arm’s length, maintaining a cool professionalism with clients, both pre and posthumous. By chance encounter, he meets Igor, (an enchanting Alexandre Jollien), a deep thinker who- despite his loving mum – is a mostly solitary soul. The oddball duo set off in hearse on a journey across the countryside south of France, discussing everything from French philosophers to feelings of ostracism.
Inspired by the lived experiences of co-director and star Alexandre Jollien, an award-winning author and philosopher with cerebral palsy, Beautiful Minds is a delightfully fresh road trip farce that proves it’s not about the destination, but about the friends made along the way.
In French with English subtitles.
